Arabic-Latin Dictionary, compiled by William Bedwell

One of Erpenius’s first hosts and mentors in Cambridge William Bedwell (1561–1632) helped to revive the study of Arabic in Europe. Bedwell realised that a Latin-Arabic dictionary was a crucial tool for teaching and research. He dedicated his life to compiling this dictionary which remained unfinished and unprinted at his death but was consulted by many scholars in the decades after.
